Devo – Atlantic City 2026

Devo brought their wonderfully bizarre brand of new wave and art-rock to Atlantic City in 2026, delivering one of the most entertaining and visually distinctive performances of the Totally Tubular Festival. Even after all these years, the band still knows how to make a stage feel like something completely different from a standard nostalgia show.

The set was packed with familiar Devo favorites, including “Girl U Want,” “Whip It,” “Uncontrollable Urge,” “Jocko Homo,” “Gates of Steel” and “Mongoloid.” The crowd reaction to “Whip It” was predictably huge, but the deeper cuts demonstrated why Devo became so much more than a one-hit novelty act.

The band sounded tight and aggressive, with the angular guitars, robotic rhythms and synthesizers retaining the strange energy that made their music so revolutionary in the first place. The visual presentation added another layer of absurdity without overshadowing the songs.

“Whip It” may have been the biggest sing-along, but Devo's entire set was a reminder that their music was never really designed to fit neatly into the mainstream. Atlantic City got weird—and that was exactly the point.
