Eagles - The Sphere, Las Vegas 2025

The Eagles brought their classic-rock catalog to the Sphere in Las Vegas in 2025, turning the futuristic venue into a massive celebration of one of America's most successful bands. Their residency, part of the Long Goodbye tour, featured Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill, and Deacon Frey. The combination of the band's familiar songs and Sphere's enormous wraparound screen made this unlike a typical Eagles concert.

The set was built around the songs fans expected, opening with “Hotel California” before moving through “One of These Nights,” “Lyin' Eyes,” “Take It to the Limit,” and “Witchy Woman.” The sequencing immediately established the show as a career-spanning trip through the Eagles catalog, with the band's polished harmonies and layered guitar work remaining at the center of everything.

Sphere added an entirely different dimension to the experience. Rather than simply placing a giant video screen behind the band, the venue's immersive display surrounded the audience with imagery designed specifically for the room. The Eagles could therefore perform songs that have been heard thousands of times while giving them a visual presentation that felt completely new.

The middle of the performance continued with “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” “Tequila Sunrise,” “In the City,” “I Can't Tell You Why,” and “New Kid in Town.” Joe Walsh also received plenty of room to shine, including performances of “Life's Been Good” and “Rocky Mountain Way.”

One of the most interesting aspects of the residency was how much material came from outside the Eagles' core catalog. “Seven Bridges Road,” “The Boys of Summer,” and “Funk #49” gave the musicians opportunities to move beyond the standard Eagles hits, while Henley and Walsh's solo material added variety to the set.

The final stretch delivered exactly the kind of songs an Eagles audience would want to hear. “Life in the Fast Lane” led into an encore featuring “Take It Easy” and “Rocky Mountain Way,” with later 2025 shows also featuring songs such as “Desperado” and “Heartache Tonight.”

What made the 2025 Sphere shows particularly memorable was the contrast between old-school rock musicianship and cutting-edge technology. The Eagles didn't need the visual spectacle to prove anything—the songs were already there—but Sphere gave familiar material a completely different setting.

For Eagles fans, the Las Vegas residency offered something increasingly rare: a chance to hear one of classic rock's defining bands perform its greatest songs in a venue unlike anything that existed when those songs were written.
