Christina Aguilera - Las Vegas 2024
Christina Aguilera's 2024 Las Vegas residency at Voltaire was a very different kind of concert experience. Rather than playing a massive arena, Aguilera performed in an intimate cabaret-style room at The Venetian, allowing her to build a show around glamour, theatricality and her famously powerful voice.
The setlist covered a surprisingly broad range of her career. “Genie in a Bottle,” “Dirrty,” “Ain't No Other Man,” “Beautiful” and “Fighter” represented the biggest hits, while songs such as “Not Myself Tonight” and “Vanity” gave longtime fans some deeper and less obvious choices. She also incorporated material from Burlesque and several classic covers, giving the performance a distinctly theatrical flavor.
The intimate setting worked particularly well for Aguilera. Instead of relying on enormous screens and arena-sized production, the show could focus on her voice, costumes, choreography and stage presence. There was a strong old-school cabaret influence, with burlesque performers and elaborate visual sequences helping create an atmosphere that felt more like a glamorous nightclub than a conventional pop concert.
Aguilera was also celebrating 25 years since the beginning of her recording career, making the residency an especially appropriate showcase for her evolution. The performance moved between her pop beginnings, provocative reinventions and more mature material without making the show feel like a simple greatest-hits package.
Ultimately, the Las Vegas residency demonstrated why Aguilera remains such a formidable live vocalist. The setting may have been intimate, but the voice was anything but small. Surrounded by theatrical production and a carefully designed atmosphere, Christina Aguilera turned Las Vegas into her own glamorous little stage.
