Gorillaz — MSG 2026 NEW

Gorillaz made a triumphant return to Madison Square Garden on September 29, bringing their wildly imaginative musical universe back to New York for the first time in 16 years. The Mountain Tour delivered a sprawling mix of new material, longtime favorites, and an impressive parade of special guests that transformed the evening into something far bigger than a standard concert.

Damon Albarn led the expansive live band through highlights including “19-2000,” “Rhinestone Eyes,” “On Melancholy Hill” and “Feel Good Inc.” Little Simz returned for “Garage Palace,” while Black Thought, Pusha T, Del the Funky Homosapien and Bootie Brown added their own distinctive flavors. The Harlem Gospel Choir brought extra power to “Demon Days,” and the encore-closing “Clint Eastwood” reunited Gorillaz with Del and producer Dan the Automator.

With Deltron 3030 and Little Simz opening the night, the show celebrated hip-hop, alternative pop and animation-inspired spectacle in equal measure. Sixteen years away had done nothing to diminish Gorillaz's ability to make Madison Square Garden feel wonderfully unpredictable.
