ABC — Fremont Street 2011 NEW
Downtown Las Vegas turned into an outdoor celebration of classic new wave when ABC performed at Fremont Street Experience in 2011. The free concert was part of a summer series celebrating the music and artists who helped shape the early MTV era, making it a fitting setting for frontman Martin Fry and his band's sophisticated pop sound.
ABC rose to prominence in the 1980s with sharp songwriting, stylish arrangements and Fry's distinctive vocals. Songs such as “The Look of Love,” “Poison Arrow” and “All of My Heart” helped establish the group as one of Britain's most memorable new wave acts. Their combination of shimmering keyboards, danceable rhythms and romantic drama stood apart from the harder-edged rock dominating other corners of the decade.
Performing beneath Fremont Street's enormous illuminated canopy, ABC offered fans a chance to revisit that era in a lively, open-air setting. The appearance was part of a broader celebration of 1980s music, bringing familiar songs and nostalgic atmosphere to the heart of Las Vegas.
