Shins — Las Vegas 2026 NEW
The Shins brought their distinctive indie pop sound to Las Vegas in 2026, joining Weezer and Silversun Pickups for a night celebrating alternative rock. Led by singer-songwriter James Mercer, the band delivered the melodic craftsmanship and thoughtful songwriting that have made them one of the defining acts of 2000s indie rock.
The performance featured fan favorites including “Simple Song,” “New Slang,” “Kissing the Lipless,” “Australia,” and “Caring Is Creepy.” Each showcased the group's knack for combining jangling guitars, infectious melodies, and Mercer's unmistakable vocals. “New Slang” remains one of the band's signature songs, connecting longtime fans to the group's breakthrough years while introducing newer listeners to its timeless appeal.
Sharing the stage with two heavier alternative rock acts gave The Shins an opportunity to offer something different. Their intricate arrangements, understated charm, and beautifully constructed pop songs provided a welcome contrast to the evening's louder guitar-driven performances.
The Las Vegas appearance was another reminder of the band's enduring appeal and James Mercer's remarkable ability to turn thoughtful songwriting into unforgettable indie pop.
