ABC — Westbury, NY 2018 NEW
Sharp suits, sophisticated pop and a catalog full of memorable hooks made ABC a standout on the Retro Futura Tour in Westbury, New York, in 2018. Frontman Martin Fry remained the charismatic center of the performance, delivering the band's polished new wave sound with the theatrical flair that has defined ABC since the early 1980s.
“Poison Arrow” and “When Smokey Sings” brought some of the group's best-known songs into the spotlight, while “(How to Be a) Millionaire” showcased the playful sophistication of their songwriting. The band also performed “Viva Love,” demonstrating that ABC's creative life extended beyond its classic hits. “The Night You Murdered Love” and “Vanity Kills” added more dramatic moments, blending sleek arrangements with Fry's expressive vocals.
The set also featured “King Without a Crown” and “All of My Heart,” the latter offering a melodic highlight for longtime fans. Sharing the bill with fellow '80s favorites, ABC delivered a stylish celebration of the era's most elegant synth-pop.
